- Oituz / Ojtoztelep
The Roman settlement of Augustia and the Roman castrum is located on the east side of the settlement.

Demographics
According to the 2002 census, the commune has a population of 3,908 of which 74.16% or 2,898 are Székely Hungarians.[citation needed]
Personalities
Áron Gábor, hero of the Hungarian Revolution of 1848 was born here in 1814.
