History

Clarkson College was founded in 1888 at the Bishop Clarkson Memorial Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska as a two-year nursing program. In 1902, it was developed into a three-year nurses' training school.

The school closed in 1955 due to budget problems but a large donation enabled it to reopen in 1960.

In the 1970s Clarkson College began to admit male students and in the 1980s Clarkson College received North Central Association and National League for Nursing accreditation. Other programs were added as the college grew.

In 1992, Clarkson College moved to its current location at 42nd and Dodge Streets. A residence hall and student center were added to the campus in 2004.[2]
