York College is a private four year college affiliated with the Churches of Christ located in York, Nebraska. The college was founded in 1890.

History

York College was founded in 1890 by the United Brethren Church. In 1946 the merger of the United Brethren Church and Evangelical Church transferred control of the school to Evangelical United Brethren Church. In 1956 the church transferred control to members of the Churches of Christ.

Academics

York is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

The York Panthers compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Division II and the National Christian College Athletic Association. York College is a founding member of the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference composed of 10 liberal arts colleges with similar philosophies.
