It is the result of the merger of Koninklijke Bijenkorf Beheer (KBB) and Vendex. The firm is mostly known for their successful department stores. It also runs several other shop formats.

In September 2010, Vroom&Dreesman was sold to Sun European Partners - an American investment company.
- HEMA (Netherlands, Belgium and Germany)
On 20 March 2007, the company announced that it was inviting offers for the Hema chain. On 2 June 2007, HEMA Has been sold to the British investment group Lion Capital.

Maxeda ITS
Maxeda IT Services, an independent IT company which focusses on the Maxeda stores. (In the past known as Vendex KBB ITS or IDETA) However they also have a wide selection of clients that are not within the Maxeda group. Since 2008, 'all emplouyees and contracts were outsourced' to Capgemini. As Capgemini Retail Solutions, a part of Capgemini Outsourcing.
