The Shire of Narrogin is a Local Government Area in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, about convert|190|km|mi|0 south-east of the state capital, Perth. The Shire's seat of government is the town of Narrogin, although the town itself is not within the Shire's boundaries. The Shire covers an area of convert|1619|km2|sqmi|0 and has a population of 846 (ABS 2001).

History

In 1892, the Narrogin Road Board was gazetted. On 1 July 1961, it became the Shire Council following changes to the Local Government Act.
