The Shire's seat of government is the town of Narrogin, although the town itself is not within the Shire's boundaries. The Shire covers an area of convert|1619|km2|sqmi|0 and has a population of 846 (ABS 2001).

History

In 1892, the Narrogin Road Board was gazetted. On 1 July 1961, it became the Shire Council following changes to the Local Government Act.
