Asaka / АсакаLocation in Uzbekistan Coordinates: 40°38′N 72°14′E / 40.633°N 72.233°E Country Uzbekistan Province Andijan Province Tuman/City Asaka City Population (1989 census) - Total 42,978 Asaka (Uzbek: Asaka / Асака; Russian: Асака) is a city in Andijan Province, Uzbekistan, to the east of Andijan in the Ferghana Valley.[1] It was formerly known as Leninsk during the communist era. The first automobile assembly plant in Central Asia was opened there by an Uzbekistani-South Korean joint venture, UzDaewoo.
