Chikhli is a city and a Municipality in Navsari district in the state of Gujarat, India. Chikhli comes under the purview of Surat Metropolitan Region.

Geography
Chikhli is located at 20°45′N 73°04′E / 20.75°N 73.07°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 19 metres (62 ft).
Chikhli is the smallest city in the region of South Gujarat. About 25 km north from the city of Valsad city and about 10 km east from the city and rail junction of Bilimora, Chikhli is on the Indian National Highway 8, from where state highways reaching Ahwa via Waghai and Vansda, and to the hill station of Saputara bifurcate.
Nearest railway station is Chikhli Road railway station on the Bilimora - Vaghai narrow gauge line. Approx. 6 km from Chikhli.
It has small rivar i.e. Kaveri & it is going to be goog market place for nearer all village.
Demographics
As of 2001[update] India census,[2] Chikhli had a population of 6953. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Chikhli has an average literacy rate of 81%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 85% and female literacy of 76%. 10% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Mallikarjun Temple, An old temple of lord Shiva is situated on bank of a seasonal lake in a village Majigam (1/2 km from Chikhli). This site is famous for a shooting of a legendary film Mother India starring Sunil Dutt, Raj Kumar and Nargis. Choseth Joginimata [Temple] was also famous for Bali before 20 years ago.

Chikhli is a major business hub to 86 smaller villages and has drawn more consumers towards it then any other major town like Valsad and Navsari. Chikhli is known for several different things. Its a major bus connection place. It has historical temples all around it. Mallikarjun is a shiv temple located southwest of the town. It also boast a Chamunda Ma temple in the heart of the town built by the Kshatriya community of Chikhli, a LaxmiNarayan temple, a shiv temple on the bank of Kaveri river and several other notable temples are located in chikhli. Chikhli is also very well known for its khaman- a sponge cake made of chickpea and chilli. However, it also very famous for its goat meat, and kebabs made from it. Near 5 kilometer a villages known as Pipalgabhan is very well known for it chicken kebab. Chikhli was originally a population mix of Kshatriya, Desai, Vaishnavs, Gandhi communities. Of late, in the last decade, people from North gujarat, North U.P., and Rajasthan have made chikhli their new home, also due to the closed vicinity of the city of Mumbai can be considered as a reason. Recently, Chikhli has been in the news for a 48-carat (9.6 g) Natural Pearl found from a Pearl Farm, which is the only one in Gujarat.
