History and etymology
Narwana is nicknamed as the NRW. and according to historical references and the ancestors there are several myths related to existence of city's name. One of them is that it was named on a lake, Nirwana, near Baba Gaibi Sahib Temple. And another one is that people with surname Maur lived in Narwana with a large number of population before and was called as Morwana before and later it was changed to Narwana.
Geography
Narwana is located at 29°37′00″N 76°07′00″E / 29.616667°N 76.116667°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 213 metres (702 feet). The terrain of Narwana shows great views.
Climate
Narwana features an atypical version of the humid subtropical climate. Summers are long and extremely hot, from early April to mid-October, with the monsoon season in between. The months of March to May see a time of hot prickling heat. Monsoon arrives at the end of June, bringing some respite from the heat, but increasing humidity at the same time. The brief, mild winter starts in late November and peaks in January and is notorious for its heavy fog. Extreme temperatures range from −0.6 °C (30.9 °F) to 46.7 °C (116.1 °F).

As of 2011[update] India census,[2] Narwana had a population of 50,435. Males constitute 27,073 of the population and females 23,362. Narwana has an average literacy rate of 81.22%, higher than the national average of 74.04%

The water supply in Narwana is managed by its Jal Board and is very well managed. Narwana's Electric Supply Undertaking is managed by the UHBVN. BSNL provides tele-services for landline and mobile. Many private tele companies are also offering their services as Vodafone Essar, Airtel, Idea, Reliance, Tata, MTS, Aircel, Cheers and much more. Affordable broadband penetration is increasing day by day. Utility services are well managed including water supplies, irrigation and agriculture, banking, hospitals and clinics and much more basic needs. Many like Aggarwal, M.S.Malik, Singla, Arora etc. are servicing people with hospitality needs. Community is happy about the hospitality needs as many hospitals are servicing the community including the Civil Hospital and private hospitals as well.
Transportation
Narwana is well connected with railway network and road network as it is connected with NH 65 and NH 71 and continuous improvements are on-going. Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan Roadways buses connect it with most of the destinations. Buses are available in day hours and also in night hours but in rare numbers. Narwana has a railway station also and is connected to many major cities of India including Delhi, Chennai, Mangalore, Mumbai, Kolkata, Kanyakumari and most of the parts of India.

Nearest Airports to Narwana are of Patiala, Hissar, Chandigarh and Delhi. Delhi's Airport is very well connected to the world map and Indian states and territories. A few private companies also provide charted flights to Sirsa, which is 2 hours distance by road.
Sports
Football and Cricket are the most popular sports in Narwana. There is a stadium and is helping a lot to deserved ones. Narwana's Cricket Club owns many titles. Volleyball and Badminton is also played there. And had also won many titles in Kabaddi and Kushti. Narwana had won Volleyball's Semi-final of HVL. And great players are supplied for the state and nationals like Saurabh Verma is the best player in Badminton field from Narwana.
Stadium is providing many facilities like football playground, hockey playground, cricket playground, wrestling mart, tennis court and badminton hall, gymnastics, roping and much more and facilitating capacity of about 15,000 people.
