Digras is a town and a municipal council in Yavatmal district in the state of Maharashtra, India.

Geography
The city is surrounded by the Khandai and Bhavani hills. Town experiences both hottest summer and colder winter. The temperature rises till 48 degrees Celsius in Summer while in winter it experiences the temperature of 3 to 4 degrees Celsius. Digras is famous for the Arunavati Dam built across the Arunavati river and 10 km away from the city. The Arunavati dam is one of the best place to be visited in Digras.
Demographics
As of 2001[update] India census,[1] Digras had a population of 39,169. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Digras has an average literacy rate of 72%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 79% and, female literacy is 65%. In Digras, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Transport
Digras is one of the important stop on the Nagpur Nanded State Highway. The place is expecting to get its name on the railway map as the plans for Wardha Nanded railway routes are chalked out. MSRTC has its Bus depot in the City outskrits. The internal roads in the city are always maintained in good state by the municipal corporation. Though the roads within the city are small, but the road condition is always good.
Famous For
Digras was famous in 1990's for the organising All India level tournaments of "Kabbadi", a popular Indian outdoor game. It is also known for the quality education in surrounding area. Its age old school "Dinbai" is known for good teachers and discipline and has its allumni all over the world. Digras was also rendered as the cotton hub till late 1980s. The place has given many international players for Kabbadi like Devi Sarbere, Keshav Kodkar, Pyarelal Pawar and Javed khan. Digras is also famous for Shani Mandir in periferi.
Mallikarjun Mandir
On the bank of river Dhawanda which flows from Digras, there is ancient temple of lord "Shiva" famous as "Mallikarjun Mahadeo Sansthan". It provides the city digras a great place for organising auspicious ceremonies. Followers of the Brahmanand Swami gathers in the month of December on the occasion of his birth anniversary.The Utsav last for 7 days and ends with the 'Palakhi'(Procession).On the gate of the mandir two catechu are present. It is said that those are the well known character oh history Harihar and bukka.
Ghanti Baba
Saint "Ghantibaba" is village - deity (Gram daiwat) of village Digras. On every "Desera" day big holy gathering starts there which longs for ten days.Every year nearly at the time of Diwali there is a fun fair in front of the "Ghantibaba mandir" for almost 15 days.All peoples especially,the villagers from the nearby villages visit to the temple followed by the fair with great enthusiasm.
Bhavani Devi Temple
The temple of bhavani devi is situated in the outskirt area of Digras town.
Ramananda Maharaj Math
There is temple near Rashtriya Vidyalaya Called "Ramanand maharaj Mathi" of Lord Shri.Dattatray prabhu.
Schools
Residents of Digras are blessed with Quality institution and devoted teachers. 'Dinbai', 'Mohanabai', "Monitor Club English" schools are known for its high class teaching and discipline.
Digras had only English Medium School, Monitor Club English Primay and Secondary School, in Yavatmal District after Yavatmal city itself till about 1980s. Its Headmaster, Mr Sole Sir is famous academic throughout this region for his dedication and knowledge.
The schools are centrally located and having a big lush playground. Apart from Dinbai school, there is a junior college by the same name. In this college, students get education for 11th and 12th standards. Starting in early 90's, the college has graduated several students who have appeared in the merit list at the 12th standard (more commonly known as Higher secondary certificate or HSC exam) in state board of Maharashtra. Aside from the students appearing in the merit lists, it has also to be noted that graduates of this college have gone on to pursue higher studies in professional disciplines (viz. engineering, technology, science and medicine).
In history of Dinbai High School record percentage passing of students in HSC and SSC examination occurs in year 2007-2008 under the Principalship of Mr. Devanand S. Padmawar, and other faculty include S.S.Kankapure sir ,ingale sir, gawande sir.
Also Digras has well known education institution as "Rashtriya Vidyalaya" which is situated almost center of city. Rahstriya Vidyala has several education fields like Play Ground (Kids Education), School, Art college, In Marathi and English medium.
The alumni of these schools are sprayed across the globe. There is a famous college named Butle college. It is an arts and commerce college. The campus is big enough.
Digras has made tremendous growth in the field of education in the last 2 - 3 years.'Vidhyaniketan' a CBSE school is famous for its modern teaching techniques, excellent teaching faculty, and especially for its active participation of students in every other extra curricular activities apart from studies.
But still there are very few opportunies available to the students after completing their HSC education. As there are no engineering or medical colleges, these students have to go outside for completing their further education.
