- Painganga River
The Penganga River (It is also spelt as Painganga) is a chief river of the
Yavatmal district in theMaharashtra state inIndia and flows along the south east boundaries of the district in a winding, meandering course. It is deeply entrenched and not able to be navigated. It rises in theAjantha range and is a major tributary of theWardha River , the other major river in the district.Tributaries
Adan River Irrigation
The river provides the irrigation to the
Washim andYavatmal districts inMaharashtra . The are two dams being constructed on the river, namely Upper Painganga and Lower Painganga.[cite web
