John Blake (born March 6, 1961 in Rockford, Illinois) is the defensive line coach for the North Carolina Tar Heels football team, a position he has held since 2007. Previously, Blake had served as the defensive line coach on Bill Callahan's staff at the University of Nebraska from 2004-2006. He also held the same position at Mississippi State University in 2003.

Mississippi State was the first college coaching job he has held since being the head coach for the University of Oklahoma Sooners from 1996-1998. Blake compiled a career record of 12-22 in just three years, reflecting the worst stretch in school history. However, Blake is given credit for laying the foundation for Oklahoma's return to prominence in the 21st century. For example, 13 of the 22 starters on the Sooners' 2000 National Championship team were recruited by Blake. Many of them were forced to play right away, as Blake's teams were frequently out of games fairly quickly.

Prior to his arrival in Norman, Blake had served as the defensive line coach for the Dallas Cowboys, working alongside current UNC coach Butch Davis and former Sooner and then Cowboy head coach Barry Switzer. The Dallas Cowboys won two Super Bowls during Blake's stint. Blake also worked as a defensive assistant at Oklahoma in the early 1990s under Gary Gibbs.
