Children in grades 7 - 12 attend the schools of the Northern Burlington County Regional School District, which also serves students from Chesterfield Township, North Hanover Township and Springfield Township, along with children of United States Air Force personnel based at McGuire Air Force Base.[3] The schools in the district (with 2005-06 enrollment data from the National Center for Education Statistics[4]) are Northern Burlington County Regional Middle School for grades 7 and 8 (665 students) and Northern Burlington County Regional High School for grades 9-12 (1,264 students). Both schools are in the Columbus section of Mansfield Township.
As of the 2007-08 school year, the district's two schools had an enrollment of 689 students and 36.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 19.1.[1]
The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "DE", the fifth highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.[5]
