It is located south of Rudee Inlet and north of Camp Pendleton near the Virginia Beach resort oceanfront. Lake Christine is also located on the southwest corner of the community.[1]
Croatan Beach is a popular among locals due to the large parking lot at the south end of the beach and its distance from the main tourist boardwalk.[citation needed]
Surf schools are run by the Virginia Beach Recreation Center and Hotline Surfboards during the summer.[citation needed] Just north of Croatan Pass, Rudee Inlet is 1st Street - the start of the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.[citation needed] The East Coast Surfing Championships have been held at this location for 40 years.[citation needed]
