Route background
The Kilometre Zero of the Federal Route 50 is located at Batu Pahat near Mount Soga, at its interchange with the Federal Route , the main trunk road of the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia.
History
Partially upgraded on 2002 with four-lane carriageway (from Batu Pahat to Kluang), else remain 2 lane alignment.

Notable features
At most section, the Federal Route 50 was built under the JKR R5 road standard, allowing maximum speed limit of up to 90 km/h.
There are signposts of monkeys and elephants in the Kahang - Kangkar Lenggor - Jemaluang section.
