Federal Route 55 or Jalan Kuala Kubu Bharu-Raub and Jalan Pahang is a federal road in Selangor and Pahang state, Malaysia. The roads connecting Kuala Kubu Bharu, Selangor until Teranum near Raub in Pahang. It is a main route to Fraser's Hill.

Route background

The Kilometre Zero of the Federal Route 55 is located at Kuala Kubu Bharu, Selangor, at its interchange with the Federal Route , the main trunk road of the central of Peninsular Malaysia.

History

The road was constructed by the British on 1920s. This road has a notable history especially during Malayan Emergency from 1948 to 1960.

Assassination of Sir Henry Gurney at Fraser's Hill Road

On 6 October 1951, Sir Henry Gurney a British High Commissioner in Malaya was shot to death at this road on his way back to Fraser's Hill for a meeting; the guerrillas of the Malayan Communist Party ambushed his Rolls Royce during the Malayan Emergency period.
