Obra Thermal Power Station is located at Obra in Sonebhadra district in the Indian state of Uttar pradesh, about 125 km from Varanasi on the Varanasi - Shakti Nagar route.
Operations
There are 13 units, divided in 4 Stages all of which are coal fired thermal power stations.
- The first stage has 5 Units
- The Second stage has 3 Units
- The Third stage has 3 Units
- The Fourth stage has 2 Units
The Machinery for the first Stage are from Taganrog & L M Z OF USSR. The machinery for the rest of the three stages are from Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited.
Capacity
Obra Thermal Power Station has a capacity of 1,500 MW. which has now reduced to 660mw. w
