October 3, 1954 – August 27, 1990 is a rare "Best of" promotional compilation CD of tracks taken from Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble's five original albums. It was released by Epic in tribute to Stevie shortly after his death.

The disk does not have a front insert. The CD itself is viewed through the clear cover of the jewel case. The tray liner contains a track listing, credits, and a picture of Stevie leaning against a road case with trademark hat, zarape, and "Number One" slung around his neck.
