No Power generation information Installed capacity 300 MW The Oakey Power Station is a 300 MW[1] power station located in western Queensland, adjacent to the Roma-to-Brisbane gas pipeline. The station is an open-cycle, dual-fuel, gas-fired power station that operates during times of peak demand. ERM Power led the development of the project and was the contract manager for the first six years of operation, and retains a 12.5% interest and 25% control of the project.[1]
The Oakey Power Station was the first tender involving the private sector and public utilities in Queensland. ERM Power invited AIDC[who?] and Siemens to support the successful bid. The station is on a long-term PPA with AGL Energy, which expires at the end of 2014.[1]
