The station was launched on 23 October 1999 as 107.7 WFM and later relaunched as Star 107.7, the studios are based on Beaconsfield Road in the centre of Weston-super-Mare.
History
Nova Radio started life as 107.7 WFM and launched in October 1999 with jingles produced by Steve England, the original presenter line-up included Steve Carpenter, Chris Criddle, Scott Temple, and Andy Saunders. The station was then later rebranded by new owners UKRD as a way of recognition of its existing Star brand. The station was then known as Star 107.7 before changing to Star Radio in North Somerset. In November 2009, Star Radio (North Somerset) was sold by UKRD and renamed Nova Radio on 26 September 2010 at 7am.
