Minster FM is an independent commercial local (ILR) radio station based in Dunnington near York, Yorkshire, England and covering the city of York and surrounding areas

The station broadcasts on 104.7 FM from Acklam Wold transmitter, near Leavening, on the Yorkshire Wolds and used to cover an area further west using a signal on 102.3 FM from Calvert's Carpets in Thirsk. Station owners The Local Radio Company have since secured a sister station Minster Northallerton which has since been merged with other services to form Star Radio, and the latter now uses the 102.3 site and signal.

Minster FM has been broadcasting since 4 July 1992, exactly nine years to the date after BBC Radio York started broadcasting and at launch the station had a live, locally presented schedule 24 hours a day and continued until the launch of Yorkshire Coast Radio in November 1993 when programmes between 10pm and 6am were broadcast on both stations. Unusually for the time, in the early years, local news was not made in-house. It was produced by Yorkshire Television's newsroom. News is now produced by the station's news team, or (for network or late night broadcasts, excluding the drivetime show) Independent Radio News (IRN) or the SKY News Centre, both based in London, who provide an hourly two / three-minute news broadcast to 46 UK commercial radio stations.

Minster FM (8.8%) have a higher audience share than BBC Radio York (7.60%),as of March 2011
