Nissan Shatai Co., Ltd. (Japanese: 日産車体株式会社 Nissan Shatai Kabushiki-gaisha?) (TYO: 7222) is a automaker headquartered in Japan. The direct history began in 1949. Main Nissan Motors is about 43% stockholders.

There are some offices in Japan, and there is a Shōnan factory in Hiratsuka, Kanagawa. The current production is cars, such as Nissan Wingroad, Nissan Serena, Nissan NV200, Nissan Caravan and Nissan Elgrand. It produces Datsun Truck and Nissan Safari to send abroad.

History

The Japan Aviation Industries Ltd (Nippon Koku Kogyo K.K) was established in 1937. The Japan International Aviation Industries Ltd (Nippon Kokusai Koku Kogyo K.K) was made in 1941 by merger of Japan Aviation Industries and the International Industries Ltd (Kokusai Kogyo K.K). The Japan International Aviation Industries produced it with the development of the Aircraft, Kokusai Ki-59 and Kokusai Ki-76 were representative. It switched to the production of cars and trains from 1946.[1]

The Japan International Aviation Industries Ltd was renamed to the Nikkoku Industries, Ltd. in 1946 and switched a business condition. The Shin-Nikkoku Industries Ltd established in 1949 was renamed to the Nissan Shatai Kohki Ltd in 1962 and merged it with the Nikkoku Industries.

Partnership with the Nissan Motors began in June 1951, Nissan Patrol 4W60 started production at Hiratsuka factory in the September. The Nissan Shatai Kohki was renamed to a current company name in 1971. The Nissan Shatai Kohki established the new Kyoto factory (Uji) in 1969, but it was transferred by Nissan Shatai in 2001 to the Auto Works Kyoto Ltd of the subsidiary. In 2007, Kanda of branch offices were established, and the Kyūshū factory was completed in 2009.[2]
