Band History
Formation-2007
Henry and George were born into a musically-involved family. Daren Chadwick, the boys' father, is a recipient of multiple RIAA gold and platinum album certifications for his production and engineering. Their mother, Janinne Chadwick, is a singer and songwriter.[1]
In 2003, junior high school classmates George Chadwick and drummer Mason Mitchell recruited Sam Chinevere (bassist) and George invited his younger brother, Henry, to play guitar and sing for the band. They named the band “My Stupid Brother” because it was easy to remember, easy to relate to, and because Henry and George are brothers.
Chinevere left the band in 2005 when he moved on to high school, and Henry proceeded to take his place as bassist. The band agreed that it would be easier to keep a three-member group than to find a new bassist, not to mention several of the bands they looked up to were trios as well (i.e. Green Day, Nirvana and Blink 182).
Self-titled Album: 2007-2009
My Stupid Brother released their first album, self-titled as “My Stupid Brother,” in April 2007. Eli Rosenblum and Kyle Poppen, friends of My Stupid Brother, contributed additional guitar solos to the tracks "Dream Girl" and "Book Theory", respectively.[2]

As of February 2, 2011, according to My Stupid Brother's Myspace page, the album has already been mastered and is awaiting release. The EP was produced by Joe Clements of Fury 66 at The Compound, a recording studio in Ben Lomond, California.[5][6]
Musical Styles and Influences
My Stupid Brother has often been referred to as a pop/punk rock band. In an interview, the band stated “Our songs are about everything from girls, to guacamole, to big picture ideas, to rock and roll, to summer, to anything we feel we need to write about.” [7]
Although Henry is the lead vocalist for the band, the Chadwick brothers harmonize their voices in many of the songs’ choruses. Critics have stated that the band sounds much like The Ramones and Green Day. In addition to these two bands, My Stupid Brother say they are also influenced by The Beatles, Nirvana, The Who, Sugarcult, The Vines and Weezer.[7] [8]
Touring and Achievements
My Stupid Brother was featured in Your Music Magazine as first place winners of "Best Live Performance" at “Your Music Olympicks” in May 2009.[9]
