It lies a few km from Nawalgarh.

History
Its original name was 'Shahabsar'. Mukundgarh founded by Thakur Mukund Singh Saheb with the help of Seth Sevek Ram Ghuwalewala. The Kanodias also played an important role for it. It was the Thikana of Bhojrajji Ka Shekhawats.
Demographics
As of 2001[update] India census[1], Mukundgarh had a population of 17,790. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Mukundgarh has an average literacy rate of 55%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 68%, and female literacy is 43%. In Mukundgarh, 18% of the population is under 6 years of age. It was established in 1857.
