In Alevism, Ali-Muhammad refers to the individuals Muhammad and Ali who exist as a single entity, or light of Aql.[citation needed] The origin of this belief can be the well-known following Shi'a hadith: "Mohammad said: The first creature of God was my light, and me and Ali are from same light."
