The Rt Rev Mowbray Stephen O’Rorke, DD^[1] (21 May 1869 - 15 March 1953) ^[2] was an Anglican bishop in Africa^[3] in the first quarter of the 20th century.^[4]
Educated at Trinity College, Dublin,^[5] O’Rorke was ordained Deacon in 1902 and Priest in 1903.^[6] After curacies at St Paul’s, Jarrow, St Margaret’s, Durham, and St Oswald’s, Durham he became Priest in charge of St Paul’s Cathedral, Rockhampton. In 1911 he was elevated to the Episcopate as the second Bishop of Accra.^[7] Resigning in 1924 he was Rector of Blakeney, Norfolk, Keeper of the Shrine at Our Lady of Walsingham.^[8] and then Chaplain at King's College, Taunton until his retirement in 1939.
