Hydrology

Moore Creek has two branches which come together at McKenzie Lake at an elevation of 395 metres (1,296 ft). The east branch begins at Cross Lake at an elevation of 441 metres (1,447 ft) and travels 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) southwest to McKenzie Lake. The west branch begins at Princes Lake at an elevation of 448 metres (1,470 ft) and travels 6.5 kilometres (4.0 mi) southeast, taking in the right tributary Papineau Creek before reaching McKenzie Lake. From there, the creek flows north 6.5 kilometres (4.0 mi) to Moore Lake at an elevation of 380 metres (1,247 ft), taking in two right tributaries: Taylor Creek from Taylor Lake; and Coghlan Creek from Coghlan Lake. Pastwa Creek enters at the lake from the left. Finally, the creek heads 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) north to its mouth at the Madawaska River, at an elevation of 314 metres (1,030 ft), which flows via the Ottawa River into the St. Lawrence River.

The creek is mostly in South Algonquin, Nipissing District, except for the southern end of McKenzie Lake and some other system tributaries flowing from the south, which are in Hastings Highlands, Hastings County.
