The Montreal Technoparc, formerly known as Adacport[1], is an industrial park and former industrial dump in the Pointe-Saint-Charles neighbourhood of Montreal, between the Champlain and Victoria bridges.[2]

History
The site was formerly marshland adjacent to the St. Lawrence River. It was used as a landfill and dumpsite from 1866 until 1966, and then was paved to serve as a parking lot for Expo 67. Following Expo, it served as the site of the Victoria STOLport.
Pollution and remediation
Now chemicals are leaching from the site into the river, and soil and water samples have dangerous levels of Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). [3][4] The city of Montreal has announced a plan to plant willow trees on the site in an attempt to reduce pollution flowing from the site into the river.[5]
Technoparc Montreal in Saint-Laurent
Confusingly[6], another industrial park in the Saint-Laurent borough of Montreal also calls itself Montreal Technoparc[7]. [8]
Current use
The area is currently occupied by several industrial businesses, notably Canada's largest motion picture studio facility[9], La Cité du Cinéma.
