Monteswar is a village situated in Manteswar (community development block) in Kalna subdivision of Bardhaman district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Monteswar is approximately 40 km from Bardhaman and approximately 120 km from the Kolkata.

Geography

Monteswar is located at 23°25′21″N 88°06′27″E / 23.4226°N 88.1075°E / 23.4226; 88.1075. Monteswar is located near the Khari river. The main connecting road is GT Road, SH-8 and NH-34. Canals of the Damoder Valley Corporation pass through this village for agricultural facility. A bridge is located between Maldanga and Monteswar across the Khari river.

The total area of this village is approximately 6 square kilometres (2.3 sq mi).

Monteswar is under Manteswar Block, and Monteswar police station.

Culture

Monteswar has a multi-cultural heritage. The deuls found here are reminiscent of Bengali Hindu architecture. The old temples bear signs of Hinduism, mostly belonging to the Sakta and Vaishnava followers.
