Mirani (Urdu: ميرانی), (Sindhi: ميراڻي) from the Arabic Amir (أمير) Mir (مير) + -âni (انی), meaning "The Descendants of Mir" or "Amir", is a Sindhi tribe of Baloch origin, settled in Sindh, and Balochistan provinces of Pakistan as well as Tehran, Hormozgān, Kermān, Khūzestān, South Khorasan, Sistan and Baluchestan provinces of Iran. According to an old tradition, they are descendants of Amir Hamza, an uncle of the Islamic Prophet Muhammad.
