Extent
As per Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly constituencies Order, 2008, No. 90 Minapur (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is composed of the following: Minapur community development block; Garha, Jhaphan, Kafen Chaudhary, Narkatiya, Narma, Patiyasa and Rampur Jaipal gram panchayats of Bochahan CD Block.[1]
Minapur (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is part of No. 16 Vaishali (Lok Sabha constituency).[1]
Results
1977-2010
In the 2010 and October 2005 state assembly elections, Dinesh Prasad of Janata Dal (United) won the Minapur assembly seat defeating his nearest rival, Rajeev Kumar of RJD and Hind Kesari Yadav of RJD respectively. Contests in most years were multi cornered but only winners and runners are being mentioned. Hind Kesri Yadav of RJD defeated Dinesh Prasad of JD(U) in February 2005. Dinesh Prasad, Independent, defeated Hind Kesri Yadav of RJD in 2000. Hind Kesri Yadav of JD defeated Sakal Dev Sahni of Congress in 1995, Janakdhari Prasad Kushwaha of CPI in 1990 and 1985. Janakdhari Prasad Kushwaha of CPI defeated Mahendra Sahni of Congress in 1980. Nagendra Prasad Singh of JP defeated Janakdhari Prasad Kushwaha, Independent, in 1977.[2][3]
