He scored his first goal for Chivas on Sep 28, 2010 on a game Against UANL Tigres. He scored once again on Oct 3, 2010 on a game against local rival Club Atlas.

International career
Miguel Angel Ponce was part of the preliminary list of players that will participate in the Copa America in Argentina. [2] Later, he also appeared in the definitive list for that tournament.
He made his debut in Mexico against Bolivia and he scored the only goal in the match.[3] Though this friendly is not counted as a FIFA official match because was played in three times of 30 minutes. He made his official debut on July 8, 2011 in a Copa América match against Perú entering as a substitute for Dárvin Chávez in the 73'. Ponce also played against Uruguay.
