Malo is a Made in Italy main brand. Malo's collections are seasonal and distributed through a direct sales network that includes Malo shops, multi-brand stores and selected department stores in different parts of the world.

History
In 1972 in Florence, Malo Tricot Srl was born on the initiative of two brothers Giacomo and Alfredo Canessa from Genoa.
In 1973 the company moved into the province of Florence, at Campo Bisenzio, Tuscany, where it began its cashmere production. Among the 70’s-80’s, the company has gradually became nationally known.
In 1980, Malo Tricot becomes Malo S.p.a., the company releases the regional boundaries opening a showroom in Milan. In 1984 Malo goes international. Malo USA Inc. was born in New York to deal with knitwear products distribution on the Northern American territory.
In 1988, Malo Spa starts its expansion campaign acquiring the knitting mill Velley Spa of Alessandria and Abor Srl of Piacenza.
In 1989, Malo Spa changes name and becomes Mac (Manufacturing Associate Cashmere). From the 90’s on, Mac’s strategy aims to increase the export activity, through the opening of sales offices in strategic markets (New York, Dusseldorf, Paris, Tokyo), and the growth of flagship stores, promoting brand reputation in different cities around the world.
In 1994, Mac has announced the acquisition of national competitor MGM Malima. Malo in 1999 joins the Itierre group from Molise (IT Holding Group), in which it remains until its release following the Holding crack.[4] In October 2010, Malo was acquired by Evanthe part of the Italian Group Exa Srl.
Italian Center of Cashmere
In 1994, Alfredo and Giacomo Canessa’s company Malo announces the 100% acquisition of the competitor MGM Malima, property of Armando Poggio. With this operation, the Associate Cashmere Manufacturing Group becomes a national leader in cashmere production.[5]
Production
Malo cashmere production comes from Mongolia. The duvet is transformed in cashmere after the spinning and dyeing activities in Italian laboratories. The final process is weaving, realized with traditional hand-made frames and modern machinery. The company manufactures cashmere knitwear in its processing facilities in Florence and Piacenza. Apart from collections focused on high hosiery for men and women, Malo over time consolidates new product lines that include leather goods, footwear, home-wear line and baby-wear.
Fashion show
In 2006 for its debut on the catwalk Malo chooses New York. The autumn-winter collection designed by Fabio Piras paraded during New York Fashion Week.[6] Followed by the collections of fashion designers[7] Roberto Rimondi, Alessandro Dell'Acqua,[8] Hamish Morrow, Xavier Palatella and William Capone.
Malo’s Locations
Malo is located in Campi Bisenzio, near Florence, where there are different business units: management, design and project studios, production departments, quality control, warehousing and logistics. Prêt-à-porter presentations are held at the showroom in Milan. Currently Malo is present in 5 European countries (Italy, France, Germany, Monaco, Spain) in the USA, China, Japan and Korea[9]
