This village is famous for Brinjal (eggplant) production in Bihar.

The famous bhojpuri folk singer Shailendra Kumar Singh is from this village. Presently prominent personalities are Aniruddha Singh (principal of senior secondary school), Rajkishor Singh (retired airforce officer), Triyogi Singh (professor),[citation needed] Surendra Kumar Singh[who?], Janardan Tiwari[who?] and Radhakrisha.[who?]

Transport
