The constituency elects 3 deputies (Teachtaí Dála, commonly known as TDs). The method of election is the single transferable vote form of proportional representation (PR-STV).
History and boundaries
It became a 3 seat constituency for the 2007 general election, having varied between 3 and 4 seats since its creation in 1948. It is located on the north side of Dublin city.[1] The Electoral (Amendment) Act 2009 defines the constituency as:[1]
