Doug Ford, Jr. (Born November 20, 1964) is a Toronto City Councillor for Ward Two in the federal electoral district of Etobicoke North in Toronto, Canada. On October 25, 2010, Ford was first elected to Toronto City Council succeeding his brother, Rob Ford, who was elected mayor of Toronto in the same election. His father, Doug Ford, Sr., was a provincial politician.

Since the 2010 municipal election, Ford sits on several boards including the Toronto Transit Infrastructure Limited (TTIL), a company preparing to begin the study and promotion of the extension of the Sheppard subway line, financed all or in part by the private sector at an estimated price tag of $3.4 billion[1]as well as Build Toronto,[2] an arms-length city body responsible for developing and selling city land.

Personal life

Doug Ford Jr. is the son of Doug Ford Sr., who was a Member of the Ontario Legislature in the Conservative government of Mike Harris, and the founder of the printing business that made the family rich[3], and the brother of current mayor Rob Ford. Doug and his wife Karla have four daughters: Krista, Kayla, Kara and Kyla. Ford became an "ethical vegetarian" after working in a meatpacking plant as a teenager.[4]
