The Cranes Nest River is a 25.0-mile-long (40.2 km)^[1] tributary of the Pound River in the U.S. state of Virginia. It is located in Dickenson County in the southwestern part of the state. Via the Pound River, the Russell Fork, the Levisa Fork, the Big Sandy River, and the Ohio River, it is part of the Mississippi River watershed.

The river is well stocked with rainbow trout from January through May.
