As a member of the Christian Democratic Appeal (Christen-Democratisch Appèl) he has been an MP since May 29, 2001. He focuses on matters of security policy, judiciary, police, international law and human rights.
Çörüz is born in the Turkish district Salıpazarı. He studied law at the University of Amsterdam and was a member of the municipal council of Haarlem from 1998 to 2001. Since May 2001 he is a member of the Dutch House of Representatives.
