It connects the Beenleigh and Ipswich Lines in peak hours, with services running all stations between Roma Street and Corinda via South Brisbane and the Tennyson Line. It connects to the Gold Coast Line at Yeerongpilly.
During times of disruption in the inner south of Brisbane, certain services can be maintained by running through this line. For example if there is a disruption at South Brisbane, Gold Coast services can be maintained by travelling along the Corinda via South Brisbane line via the Ipswich line to Yeerongpilly, then south to Beenleigh as per normal along the Beenleigh line.
Corinda via South Brisbane line is a major freight corridor, being the main connection between western Queensland freight lines, the Port of Brisbane and the marshalling yards at Moolabin, Clapham and Acacia Ridge.
Passenger services on the line ceased in June 2011.[1][2]
Line guide and services
All services stop at all stations to Bowen Hills railway station. This service generally operates only during morning peak times, and afternoon school hours.
During the off-peak, TransLink bus services operated by Brisbane Transport operate between Corinda and Yeerongpilly Stations, stopping at Tennyson station along the way.
Services often are formed from Bowen Hills station, but some services may continue/originate from other lines. Although most services goes to Corinda, there is one service in the morning which goes to Sherwood from Yeerongpilly and back to City, forming a loop.
Passengers for/from the Ipswich line change at Corinda, Beenleigh line change at Yeerongpilly, Cleveland and Gold Coast lines at Park Road, and all other lines at Central.
