Continental Resources (NYSECLR) is an oil and natural gas exploration company headquartered in Enid, Oklahoma, which will relocate to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 2012.

Continental Resources was founded in 1967 as Shelly Dean Oil Co.[1] In 1990, the company changed its name to Continental Resources. Continental Resources, which is currently operating out of the Continental Towers in Enid, Oklahoma will move to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 2012.[2]. Continental will move more than 250 employees to its new headquarters in downtown Oklahoma City.[3] The company is a major indpendnent producer of oil and natural gas. Continental has largest acreage positions in the Bakken and Anadarko Woodford resource plays, and is the #2 oil producer in the Rocky Mountains.[4]. One of the companies major oil production areas is the Bakken, where the CEO claims that 24 billion barrels are located[5].

Headquarters

The company is headquartered in downtown Enid, and will move to Oklahoma City in 2012. Continental will take over Devon Energy's old corporate tower once Devon moves into Devon Tower.[3]
