Chris Lent is an American drummer^[1] and keyboardist, who was formerly a member of the post-hardcore band From First to Last, and of the experimental band I Set My Friends On Fire.

Musical career

By Far the Least/Dead Reckless (2005–2006)

Lent acquired his GED at 16 so he could begin living, writing, and touring with Georgia band, By Far the Least ^[2]. By Far the least was being produced by Travis Richter of From First to Last. By Far the Least became Dead Reckless, a southern rock band, that was produced by Matt Good and Travis Richter on several songs.^{[3] [4]}Dead Reckless toured the Dead by Dawn 2 tour with From First to Last, He is Legend, Haste the Day , and Chiodos. Dead Reckless played toured around the southeast US mainly and small stints into Texas. Dead Reckless played a show at the Mellow Mushroom in Valdosta, Georgia with Georgia's own Nor Am I this is where Lent met Matt Manning while drinking pitchers of Jack and Coke. Matt Manning became the new lead singer of Dead Reckless shortly after. The band disbanded in the spring of 2006 while on tour in Tennessee. Lent and Manning pulled the irish drinking band Captain and Blackbeer together for a demo release. Lent then moved to Macon, Georgia to start a band with Nor Am i guitarist Ryan Glisson but after two months moved to orlando to record and write with Travis Richter under the band RIEN which featured Matt Manning handling bass duties. There was an EP recorded in late 2006.

From First to Last (2008–2009)

Lent was the keyboard player for From First to Last^[5]. He is seen in the video for Worlds Away, and the live performance on Jimmy Kimmel for Two as One. He left the band in 2009 to focus on drumming, never being featured on an album.

I Set My Friends On Fire/The Color of Violence/Robot Manikon (2009–2011)

Lent originally joined the duo I Set My Friends On Fire as only a touring drummer assisting Matt Mehana and former member Nabil Moo in 2009 ^[6]. However, the band decided to make him a permanent member soon thereafter. He made his debut with the band on the song "Four Years Foreplay", a compilation with comedy duo Smosh, but his first appearance on a track strictly with the band was a demo version of the group's song "Excite Dyke".

Chris was also touring with The Color of Violence Derek Bloom and Travis Richter side project whenever time permitted. Lent was one of two drummers alongside Daughters drummer Jon Syverson. ^[7] And Valdosta, Georgia band Robot Manikon ^[8] After Nabil Moo left the group, he replaced him as the keyboardist and composer on the group's second album, Astral Rejection ^[9]. He wrote the script and treatment for the video It Comes Naturally with his brother Nicholas Lent. The video was then directed by Nabil Moo with Nicholas Lent co-directing. After another successful run on Warped tour '11 and a co-headliner in Europe with A Skylit Drive Lent left the band, citing a 'general unhappiness' as the reason for his departure.

Currently(2011–)

Lent is currently writing new music for various projects he is attempting to put together. No word has been solidified but Electronic and Rock demos made by Lent have been put onto his Sound Cloud site, under the pseudonym Wail-Speak.^[10]. The demos show Lent handling drums, bass, guitar, synths, programming, and sometimes vocals. He has rumored about various bands such as The Bible and Whiskey Wolf
