They currently own 4 buses, mainly Optare Solo's with a Plaxton Beaver used for a school route and as a spare for public services, and along with the school service they operate a mix of tendered services and one commercial service.
Checkmate Transport has a history in Tameside, running numerous routes before selling the company off. They recently reappeared several years ago, running a small number of services in Oldham and Tameside, using Plaxton Beavers and an Optare Metrorider, before expanding into other areas in Tameside. They also operated the DS1 and DS2 shuttle buses in Saddleworth, linking Uppermill and Greenfield with Dovestones Reservoir in the summer of 2010 [1] before the services were scrapped in spring 2011.[2] In the summer of 2011 a new DS1 service was introduced, which was operated by First Manchester.[3]
