Christopher Scott OAM (born 29 October 1968)^[1] is an Australian paralympic cyclist.

Biography

Christopher Scott was born in Gympie, Queensland, and currently resides in Parkinson, Queensland.^[1] A Records Clerk by occupation, Scott has Cerebral Palsy and competes in the CP 4 class. ^[2]

Previously, Scott had competed in 7-a-side Football at the 1988 Summer Paralympics in Seoul, he also competed in athletics in the 1988 Paralympics and again in the 1992 Paralympics in Barcelona. He switched to cycling for the 1996 Paralympics in Atlanta, and continued to compete in that sport at the 2000, 2004, and 2008.^[2] Over his Paralympic career, he has won six gold, two silver, and two bronze medals, all in cycling. Scott received the Australian Paralympic Committee's Senior Male Athlete award in 2002, Sporting Wheelie of the Year 2002 and 2005. He also won the Australian Male Disabled Cyclist of the Year awards for four consecutive years between 2002 and 2005, and was the 2005 Australian Sportsperson of the Year with a Disability. Scott is also the recipient of the Medal of the Order of Australia.^[2]
