Biography
Born and raised in London, England,[1] of Sri Lankan Tamil ancestry.[2] David was educated at the James Allen's Girls' School in Dulwich, South London, and read Economics at Downing College, University of Cambridge. She has also worked for independent think tank Oxford Economic Forecasting, for the UK's Government Economic Service, and for HSBC Investment Bank in London.
Career
David joined the BBC in 2000 as an economics and business reporter. She worked on BBC News 24, and on its international counterpart BBC World.[3] She also presented for the BBC's current affairs series Panorama, BBC One news and British national radio. She presented World Business Report from New York from July 2006.
David joined Tesco in briefly in 2008 as their broadcasting manager.[4]
In September 2009, it was announced she would be joining Sky News as a business correspondent.[5]
