The Live Desk is a lunchtime news programme which started broadcasting on Sky News in the United Kingdom from September 8th 2008. It runs from 1pm to 2pm on weekdays and will be usually presented by Colin Brazier. The introduction of the new show means that Afternoon Live will be reduced to 3 hours [ [http://www.skypressoffice.co.uk/common/uploads/downloads/19483_Sky_News_SN_Schedule.pdf New look Sky News schedule] ]

The major difference between this and other shows on Sky News, is that it is presented from the heart of the newsroom, instead of from the desk. This is regarded by many as a positive change to the channel's output.

The programme is loosely based on the Fox News Channel show The Live Desk.
