China Digital Times (CDT; Chinese: 中国数字时代) is a bilingual "collaborative news website covering China’s social and political transition and its emerging role in the world," according to the site's About page. The site is run by the Counter-Power Lab at the School of Information, University of California, Berkeley, and is edited primarily by faculty and students at the Journalism School, with contributions from volunteer bloggers.[1]

CDT aggregates breaking news, analysis, and commentary about China from the English-language media and translates content and daily recommendations of readings from the Chinese blogosphere. The content is organized into main categories which include: Politics, Economy, Society, Law, Culture, Sci-Tech, World, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Each post is also tagged with more specific keywords. The site includes special sections for book reviews, multimedia features, podcasts, and News Focus topics which include the Environmental Crisis, Human Rights, Information Revolution, Beijing Olympics 2008, and the Great Divide.[2] The website compiles, augments, and distributes its content through the innovative use of Web 2.0 technologies, such as Weblogs, Wiki, RSS, social bookmarking, tagging, and photo and video sharing.
