census GR|2 of 2000, there were 283 people, 100 households, and 74 families residing in the town. Thepopulation density was 279.7 people per square mile (108.2/km²). There were 109 housing units at an average density of 107.7/sq mi (41.7/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 93.99% White, 0.71% African American, 0.71% Native American, 0.71% Pacific Islander, 0.35% from other races, and 3.53% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.18% of the population.There were 100 households out of which 39.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.0% were married couples living together, 23.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.0% were non-families. 23.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.77 and the average family size was 3.23.
In the town the population was spread out with 35.0% under the age of 18, 6.0% from 18 to 24, 24.0% from 25 to 44, 23.0% from 45 to 64, and 12.0% who were 65 years of age or older.
