The school is located within the Richmond County School System.
History
Cross Creek High School opened in 1999, for convenience and to relieve overcrowding at nearby Hephzibah High School and Butler High School. Cross Creek is one the highest ranking schools in Georgia.[1][2]

Athletics
The school offers a various array of Team sports and programs. In addition, the school is adequately staffed with highly qualified personnel and coaches that facilitate the development of the young Student-Athlete. Some of these sports include football, soccer, softball, baseball, swimming, tennis, track, basketball, golf, volleyball, wrestling, and cheerleading.

The Cross Creek Athletic Booster Club is a parent-based organization providing support for the student athlete both on and off the field. Your membership in the Booster Club is one of the best ways to show your support for athletics at Cross Creek. Money is raised through several fundraisers during the school year. These fundraisers include: football concession sale, chicken dinner, concessions from the Richmond County Recreation Track meet and membership fees.
Chorus
The Cross Creek Chorus had its beginning in 1999 (The same year of the school's opening). Since that time the choir has been a constant staple in the fabric of the school and surrounding community. On average, the grouping boasts about 10% of the school's total population. Its first director was Sonya Bailey. The choir began to be under the direction of its second director Jerome Peterson during the 2006-2007 academic school year.
This ensemble has the privilege of having several factions in the form of the Concert Choir, The Men's Chorus, Women's Chorus, Show Choir, Men's Quartet, and the Women's Trio. In addition, the chorus has the benefit of having several fine soloist who are competitive for scholarships and awards. The Chorus also regularly adjudicated by The Georgia Music Educator's Large Group Performance Evaluation proceedings where they consistently receive Superior and Excellent Ratings. This group has a Parent Booster Support Organization which facilitates their heavy performance schedule. DECA
DECA is a national association for students enrolled in Marketing Education classes. National DECA was founded in 1946, with Georgia DECA preceding the National Organization by two years. DECA offers students many diverse opportunities to develop their leadership skills and job skills through participation at region, state, and national competitions. DECA provides over a half million dollars in scholarships annually to deserving high school seniors. At Cross Creek, our DECA Chapter was founded during the 1999-2000 school year.

The National FFA Organization, founded in 1928 as the Future Farmers of America, is a dynamic youth leadership organization that strives to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
FFA Alumni Association
The Cross Creek FFA Alumni is a chartered local affiliate of the Georgia FFA Alumni Association that is chartered by the National FFA Alumni Association. Membership shall be open to former active, collegiate, and honorary FFA members, present, and former professional agricultural educators, parents of FFA members and others interested in the FFA, upon payment of dues. The purpose of the organization shall be: 1. To support and promote the FFA Organization, FFA activities, and agricultural education on local, state, and national levels. 2. To provide a tie to the FFA and to assist FFA and agricultural education personnel to involve former members and other interested in supporting activities. 3. To promote greater knowledge of agricultural industry and support education in agriculture. 4. To cooperate with Cross Creek FFA Chapter and the Georgia State and National FFA Alumni Association. 5. To promote and maintain an appreciation of the American Free enterprise system. 6. To promote the personal development aspect of the FFA.

NJROTC
Cross Creek also has one of the finest NJROTC units in the nation. The unit is commanded by CDR. Johnathan Shaw(USN), are GySgt Jones(USMC), STGC Scott(USN), And PS1 Jones(USN). The unit, which ranks in rifle,{drill, athletics(push ups, curl ups, and running), academics}, orienteering and overall personal inspection at the its annual military inspection is in NJROTC Area 12, where the unit is always a fierce competitor. The Razorback Regiment has also been a distinguished unit since 2000, (the school opened in 1999). The Razorback Regiment has 350+ cadets making it one of the largest NJROTC schools in Area 12. The Regimental cadet commander is a cadet Captain a rare title to held by any NJROTC cadet. The current Cadet Commander is senior, C/Captain Jordan Johnson.
