Gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community
Currently, there is a Queer Alliance student group and a Queer Resource Center on campus. The Queer Resource Center is an academic and informational resource center for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, genderqueer, intersex, questioning, and straight allies.[8] The Queer Resource Center aims to empower and celebrate its demographic as well as its community.[9] The center has participated in anti-violence, anti-homophobia, and anti-transphobia rallies and workshops.[10] The center has struggled with funding although this has caught the attention of politicians, notably the Green Party, whose candidate for board of trustees John Rizzo has promised funds for more LGBT studies and the Queer Resource Center.[11]
Women
CCSF was the first college to offer women training as aircraft mechanics,[citation needed] and established one of the first Women's Studies programs in the nation.[12]
On campus, there are numerous student activity groups, gender-specific courses, and health services. For example, the Women's Resource Center and Library (Smith Hall, 103-104) offers women on campus an opportunity to network with academic support services and resources, and Project Survive is a campus peer education group working to promote healthy relationships and end abuse and sexual violence.[13]
Hotel and restaurant management programs
Founded in 1936, the program is the oldest two-year hospitality program in the country and oldest of any kind emphasizing culinary arts, with an annual average enrollment of 200 international students.[14]

The SFCCDPD's primary jurisdiction is the San Francisco Community College District and adjacent streets and sidewalks. The SFCCDPD's arrest authority extends to any place within the State of California. The officers employed by the Community College District must graduate from a POST certified academy and also attend continuing training in law enforcement and other appropriate topics. There are police officers on the Ocean Campus 24 hours a day 365 days a year. The SFCCDPD is the one of four campus police departments that do not carry firearms, after Napa Valley College armed their officers late 2007.

The Ocean Avenue campus is accessible via BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) and MUNI (San Francisco Municipal Railway). Riders can travel from larger distances in the East Bay, downtown San Francisco, or San Mateo County to the Balboa Park station. This station is shared between BART and MUNI, and is located two blocks from the main campus. Passengers within the city can use MUNI train K-Ingleside line or one of several other bus lines to arrive at the main campus. The 43 Masonic has direct stops around the perimeter of campus. The other campuses are also accessible via public transportation.
