United States Census Bureau , the town has a total area of 45.7square mile s (118.2km² ), of which, 45.4 square miles (117.6 km²) of it is land and 0.2 square miles (0.6 km²) of it (0.55%) is water.Demographics

census GR|2 of 2000, there were 850 people, 350 households, and 252 families residing in the town. Thepopulation density was 18.7 people per square mile (7.2/km²). There were 473 housing units at an average density of 10.4/sq mi (4.0/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 98.82% White, 0.12% African American, 0.94% Asian, and 0.12% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.59% of the population.There were 350 households out of which 30.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.0% were married couples living together, 8.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.0% were non-families. 23.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.43 and the average family size was 2.87.
In the town the population was spread out with 23.4% under the age of 18, 4.6% from 18 to 24, 27.1% from 25 to 44, 26.7% from 45 to 64, and 18.2% who were 65 years of age or older.
