Skotani is connected with the GR-33 (Tripoli - Patras) is located south of Kalavryta, northwest of Levidi, north-northwest of Tripoli, east-northeast of Olympia and Pyrgos and southeast of Patras.
The village has about 5 to 6 km of paved road and about 6 km of gravel road. It has about 6 to 8 km of hydro lines, phone lines ad to 4 to 5 km.
Geography
Its geography consists of forests and grasslands, the forests are commonly to the south and north, farmlands are in valley areas. It has around 80 houses in the foot of the Chelmos (or Aroania) mountain, it has a household capacity of 3.4, down from many in the 1950s. Its elevation is 980 m above sea level.
History
Skotani was one of the cities of the Arcadian Azania and was part of the city-state of Kleitor during the ancient period. It was founded by the banks of the Ladona near Nassoi, Arcadian and that, next to the Soron forest. Nearby Skotani had the villages named Lykountes and Argeathoi[1].
Skotani was later ruled by the Romans, the Byzantines with brief Gothic and Slavic occupation, the Franks the Venetians and was ruled by the Ottoman Turks with the exception from 1681 until 1715 with the last of the Venetian rule, it became a part of Greece after the Greek War of Independence. It adopted its current name in the early 20th century in order to no longer remind of a name during the Turkish rule. After World War II and the Greek Civil War, its buildings were rebuilt and emigration occurred at a higher rate and emigration will be to the lowest, the population lost by 40% between 1981 and 1991 and recovered between 1991 until 2001. Alfeioussa became connected with asphalt in the 1960s. More pavement was accessed in the late 20th century. Electricity, radio and automobiles were introduced in the mid-20th century, television in the late-20th century and computer and internet at the turn of the millennium.
Economy
Its main economy is agriculture, its main production includes olives, cattle, fruits, vegetables and other crops.

Skotani has a school for the entire municipal district (the former community), a church, a post office, and a square (plateia). Its nearest gymnasium (middle school), lyceum (secondary school) are in Dafni.
